Visit the places which had witnessed the horrible siege of Leningrad during the World War II. It was one of 3 humanitarian catastrophies in the Mankind Warfare history (destruction of Jews and Armenians are among them) with still unknown number of victims. We are visiting some of the memorial sites (Flower of Life, the piece of authentic road, the Baltic Wings, the Broken Ring Memorial etc) located along the Road of Life - the only city supporting route to starving Leningrad through the Ladoga Lake connected the besieged city with the rest of Soviet Union, the Road of Life Museum with the considerable collection of armory, relics, uniform, documents and Diorama with the outside exhibition of original tanks found mostly on the Neva river bottom. It revives the events of the breakthrough operation of 1943 "Spark" by name. Also we will be attending the most infernal place, Nevsky Bridgehead, where the duration of a warrier's life didn't exceed 1 day only.

In March 1841, as townspeople flocked to the Exeter Courthouse to view a state-of-the-art diorama of the Conflagration of Moscow, the courthouse itself went up in flames. What was dubbed the Conflagration of the Courthouse is just one of the intriguing events revisited by historian Barbara Rimkunas in this collection. Exeter was also home to a score of eccentric personalities including Dick the fire horse, whose obituary in the town paper ran longer than that of the fire chief, and the mysterious Dr. Windship, a surgeon in the American Revolution who later earned the epithet of thief, fraudster and attempted bigamist. From scandals and Scotsmen to revolutionaries and river rats, Exeter: Historically Speaking reveals the many different threads with which Exeter's vibrant historical tapestry is woven.
